Oxidative stress, redox signaling and chromatin

Our research aims at dissecting this complexity to understand the roles of these compounds and the interactions between them.

We study various plants such as Arabidopsis and rice using a wide array of methods, with a focus on genetics, protein biochemistry, transcriptomics, and metabolomics. Current research themes include different aspects of glutathione metabolism, the role of specific leaf NADP-linked dehydrogenases in oxidative stress, and the functional importance of specific chloroplast thioredoxins.

A second important focus is on epigenetics to elucidate the role of histone-modifying and related enzymes in regulating gene expression, development, metabolism, and stress responses.
