The POPS Transcriptomic Platform develops transcription profiling methods with high-throughput sequencing (HTS) and microarrays technologies for functional genomics. Transcript profiling is a powerful approach to understand the functional networks which drive plant development.
The group is involved in many research projects and performs transcript profiling experiments in collaboration with partner laboratories on the following technologies : Illumina for RNA-seq on model and crops species, CATMAv7 for Arabidopsis thaliana, AGILENT arrays for crops species (custom made or already commercially available),. We have developed a version of CATMA based on the AGILENT technology (CATMAv7) and a pipeline for the quantitative analysis of transcriptome using HTS technologies.
We analyzed 800 samples/year on average corresponding to 36 projects/year in collaboration (all technologies). Since 2003, we have published an average of 10 publications/year with an IF=6.1 (21 in 2014).
All analyzed transcriptional experiments are accessible by 2 databases (CATdb and GEO/NCBI). CATdb is our laboratory management system developed by the Genomic Network Team. CATdb guarantees traceability, secure storage, an access to the experimental design and statistical analyses.
